Hot Celebrity Guests
The show has the hottest celebrity guests from Lady Gaga to Jeff Bridges.
She playfully interviews young new hollywood stars like shy Robert Pattinson from the Twilight Saga to countless oscar winners. She doesn’t take herself too seriously, as her over the top dance moves illustrate.
Bieber Fever...Superstar singer Justin Bieber appeared on the show. Bieber seems suprisingly grounded and sweet despite his superstardom. Bieber surprises one awestruck and speechless teenage fan by showing up in her bedroom.
Bieber invited Ellen's entire squealing teenage audience to The Los Angeles premiere of his new movie "Never Say Never", which chronicals Bieber's rise to fame from near poverty in Ontario Canada to today's word wide fame.
Bieber appeared with his new shorter cropped hair, which apparently caused him to loose 80,000 Twitter followers. You could say it was the hair cut heard around the world.
Teen star Selena Gomez was also a guest on Ellen. Gomez finally admitted to being in a relationship with Bieber on Ellen, to the horror of pre-teens everywhere.
Ellen does a hilarious hidden camera spoofs with celebrity guests like Dennis Quaid and Jennifer Lopez. Ellen instructs the celeb to say ridiculous things and make demands to unsuspecting "normal" people via an earpiece.
Animal Lover
Animal lovers can count on Ellen to support animal causes. Such as ending the cruel practices of puppy mills.
Ellen even became a vegan recently. A vegan is a vegetarian who excludes all meat, poultry, fish, and other animal derived foods such as dairy and eggs. Vegans also don’t use products derived from animals such as fur or leather. Ellen & wife Portia De Rossi both became vegan because they "love animals so much."
There is no shortage of celebrities who live the Vegan lifestyle. Celebs such as Natalie Portman, Alicia Silverstone, Emily Deschanel, and Tobey Maguire are vegans.
Although Portman decided to go vegetarian instead of vegan during her pregnancy."I actually went back to being vegetarian when I became pregnant, just because I felt like I wanted that stuff,"Portman said during a radio interview"I was listening to my body to have eggs and dairy and that sort of stuff."
Oprah even participated in a one week vegan challenge with 378 members of her staff. Oprah and her staff go vegan for one week.
Ellen's Beginnings
Ellen Degeneres has had a long and interesting career.
Ellen attended the University of New Orleans as a communication major, but she dropped out after one semester. She held a wide variety of jobs until she turned to stand-up comedy, making her way up the ladder at small clubs.
- Her first appearance on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson was in 1986. She continued working throughout the 1990’s.
- In 1997 she came "out of the closet" on her sitcom Ellen which caused major controversy at the time. She bravely became the first gay lead character on a network.
- Ellen began her own show in 2003. The show has been enormously successfull, and an Emmy awards favorite.
Attitudes towards gays & lesbians have changed dramatically over the years. Would a celebrity coming out the closet garner much controversy today? The TV star is definitely out of the closet with her marriage to actress Portia De Rossi 38. The latest rumors are that the couple may be considering adopting a child.

I enjoy watching her when I happen to be home when her show is on. Thanks for the hub.
I do like her generous spirit, but does anyone else find it a bit annoying when she has two audience members playing a game, and she gives the huge prize to both of them.
Shish i also find that prize thing a bit monotonous but everything else is just darling :) :) Great show Degeneres, greetings from Africa.
