Kid and Adult Ice Cream Sundae Party Ideas
67It's time to have an ice cream party!
Why? Because it’s fun. Great for kids or adults. Everyone loves ice cream. Right?
So here is the plan. Get 3 basic flavors of ice cream like Vanilla, Chocolate & Strawberry…
Have plenty of whipped cream, sprinkles, chocolate syrup & caramel sauce. Maybe some melted peanut butter.
Provide some special toppings. Chop up brownies. Crumble some cookies. Cut some cake or cupcakes into cubes. Chop up some candy bars like Reese’s Peanut butter cups, Snickers and Twix… Provide a few salty treats for toppings too like nuts and pretzels so it’s salty and sweet. MMMmmm…
Put some cookie sheets in the freezer.
When it’s time to eat leave the ice cream at room temperature for a few minutes so it’s easy to scoop.
Put the cold cookie sheets on the counter when everyone is ready to make their sundae.
Set up a little toppings station with all your cookies, candy, pretzels...Make a little assembly line with bowls & spoons, ice cream, toppings, cookie sheets, mixing spoons...
Everyone can Mix up their ice cream and toppings on the cold cookie sheet. Sort of like Coldstone… Then top your ice cream concoction with whipped cream and more toppings.
Sundae Ideas:
- S'mores Sundae; Graham cracker marshmallows & chocolate
- Everything Sundae; Pretzels, M&M's, chocolate sauce, and Peanut Butter
- Strawberry Shortcake Sundae; Strawberries and crumbled biscuits with Vanilla ice cream
Your kids will have a love being able to mix up their own sundae. So will the adults.
Don‘t waste any left over any toppings. Just store them in zip-lock bags in the freezer or the fridge to snack on. Or save them for your next ice cream party.

For a number of years when my kids were younger, we would have an ice cream party as an "end of the summer" party before school started. We'd make several kinds of homemade ice cream and had a variety of toppings. It was great fun.
Nice hub and thanks for the memories!
